OnBase 11.0 is now released!

Hyland Software announces the release of OnBase 11.0, which continues to evolve the core ECM functionalities while adding 1,800+ enhancements and innovative features.

With 1,800+ enhancements and more than 15,000 weeks of work by the Development and QA teams, OnBase 11.0 continues to evolve the core ECM foundation while adding innovative features. "Because we release software every year, it allows us to stay current with our customers IT infrastructure," says Bill Filion, vice president of development at Hyland. "As others upgrade their software, like when Microsoft released Internet Explorer 9 this spring, we also keep ours in lockstep with them.

With OnBase 11.0, Hyland continues to enhance the core ECM foundation, while building on it with mobile apps and new ways to create applications. "We've been doing capture throughout our 20 year history, and now we're focusing on automating aspects of indexing that we have never done previously. We're taking more manual activity out of the capture side," says Filion.

Further enhancing the core functionality of OnBase, 11.0 also takes a big step forward in the integrations with connectors for key applications like SAP and PeopleSoft. These connectors let OnBase and those systems share information more closely than ever before with real-time back and forth communication – without custom coding

Hyland is making working outside of the office easier in 11.0. What started as a mobile app for BlackBerry a year ago in 10.0, has grown into OnBase mobile workflow apps for Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows Phone 7. In addition, a fully functioning offline client lets field workers access a complete OnBase solution without a connection to the network or Internet.

Making OnBase easy enough for business users to configure has been a key part of the OnBase development philosophy and 11.0 carries on that tradition.
"We’ve been eliminating the need to have computer scientists on staff to create an automated workflow that allows your business processes to go from one user to another and across departments,” says Filion. “A new Forms Designer in 11.0 can bring control of a departmental solution out of the IT department and into the hands of the business users. In 12.0, our customers we’ll see even more of this. We’ve been doing document-driven workflows for over 10 years, and with the 12.0 release we’re planning on evolving our technologies and workflow to also include point-and-click configurable data-driven workflows."

"With 11.0, we are giving our customers scanning and capture with their infrastructure for managing content in all of the departments. And it's using the same IT spend – there's no need for an expensive third-party capture product," says Filion. "It is revolutionary in the industry to get that much more out of your IT dollars than what you would get with multiple products.

"In 12.0, our customers will see more foundational enhancements and new technology. We’ll continue to enhance and automate our capture processes. Our integrated solutions will make it easier for users to intuitively get their job done from the applications they work in every day. As the mobile market grows, so will our mobile apps. And, we’ll bring more diversity to how we automate your business processes."
